Tooth Extractions

When your tooth is severely damaged either by decay or physical injury, Dr. Gupta will perform a tooth extraction only if the tooth cannot be saved. While extractions are not the first treatment recommended, they can be performed at her office if no other option is viable. Prior to treatment, she makes sure that you are comfortable every step of the way. If needed, she can provideoral conscious sedationin order to make your extraction feel incredibly short!

Wisdom Tooth Extractions

If you are between the ages of 18 and 25 and you start to notice tooth pain in the back of your mouth, it’s possible that your wisdom teeth are beginning to erupt. While wisdom teeth may have been useful tens of thousands of years ago, they are largely evolutionary relics today. That means they tend to cause more harm than they actually prevent, especially when it comes to the overall alignment of your smile. In rare cases, the mouth can accommodate wisdom teeth. However, most of the time they cause pain and inflammation, increase your risk for oral infections, and make your smile and overall bite uneven due to crowding.

If your wisdom tooth is visible, we’ll perform what is called a simple extraction to remove it. This is largely similar to what would be done for any tooth extraction. However, if the tooth is trapped underneath gum tissue or existing teeth (impaction), then we will create a small incision in your gum tissue and break the tooth into tiny pieces for easier removal. You’ll be given local anesthetic to numb any sensation during treatment. If needed, we will also bring in a periodontist should your case be particularly complex.

Dental Implant Placement

While many dentists who claim to offer dental implants will refer you out to a specialist to have surgery completed, Dr. Gupta is trained to place dental implants in-house for your convenience. Whether you need to have a single tooth replaced or you need a more complex restoration to replace several teeth at a time, he’s got the expertise and technology to make it happen.

Prior to your treatment, we perform a detailed examination of your mouth to make sure that you are a viable candidate for dental implants. This means confirming the height and volume of your bone tissue as well as your overall oral health, both of which are extremely important factors for determining your eligibility for dental implants.
